Amanda Friedman is an artist living in Brooklyn, NY. She holds an MFA in Painting from Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College, where she was the recipient of the Hartog Travel Grant. She has had recent two-person and solo shows at Safe Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (2018), and 17 Essex, NY, NY (2016). She has been included in group shows at such galleries as Cleopatra’s, Brooklyn, NY; Regina Rex, NY, NY; Adds Donna, Chicago, IL; and Redling Fine Art, LA, CA. Her plays have been produced at All Saints Church and Essex Flowers, NY, NY, and Safe Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. She is a founding member of the artist-run cooperative gallery Essex Flowers, NY, NY. She has participated in residencies at such places as The Shandaken Project, New Windsor, NY, and Autocenter, Berlin, Germany. The second edition of her artist book made in collaboration with Ariel Dill and Denise Schatz, Drawing Hilma Af Klint, was published by Miniature Garden in 2019.
