Amanda Friedman is an artist living in Brooklyn, NY. She holds an MFA in Painting from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College where she was the recipient of the Hartog Fund Travel Grant. She has had recent two-person and solo shows at Safe Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (2018) and 17 Essex, New York, NY (2016-2017). She has been included in group exhibitions at such galleries as Cleopatra’s, Brooklyn, NY; Regina Rex, New York, NY; Adds Donna, Chicago, IL; and Redling Fine Art, Los Angeles, CA. Her plays have been produced at All Saints Church and Essex Flowers, New York, NY and Safe Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. She is a founding member of the artist-run cooperative gallery Essex Flowers, New York, NY. She has participated in residencies at such places as The Shandaken Project, New Windsor, NY and Autocenter, Berlin, Germany. The second edition of her artist book (in collaboration with Ariel Dill and Denise Schatz), Drawing Hilma Af Klint, was published by Miniature Garden in March 2019.
